Obituary of LaVine Ellen Sloan

LaVine Ellen Sloan, 91, went to be with her Lord, on December 25th, 2018, she will be missed dearly. We have found some peace in knowing that she is united with the love of her life in heaven and that on earth her bright memories will always remain.

LaVine was born on September 21st, 1927, to Rosa Kallus and Ira Halbert from Hudson, Kansas. It was here she met and married Robert Sloan; together they had four wonderful children. Their love of the outdoors brought them to Idaho, in 1968. She enjoyed working in her garden that produced beautiful flowers and award winning vegetables. She loved canning and was known for her delicious grape jelly.

Surviving family members include her four children: Neva Kaufman (Ken) of Boise, Linda Quinlan (Casey) of Kansas City, Bob Sloan (Carmen) of Boise and Randy Sloan (Debbie) of Boise. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jodi Taylor, Scott Kaufman, Tami Fisher, Sean Hare, Carrie Broeckelmann, Christina Brannon, Alex Sloan, Jessica Sloan, Tiffany Waggoner and Megan Sloan. LaVine has twelve great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years and one great grandson.

The family wants to give special thanks to Dr. Clifford Tenley, Dr. Sara Wilson and Sydney and Charlene at Stonebridge Home Care; Aspen Rehab and the Horizon Hospice staff.
