Obituary of Daniel Joseph Kaeppner

Daniel Joseph Kaeppner “Dan” was born on May 11, 1962 in Boise, Idaho the second of three boys of Jolene Evans and Joseph Kaeppner. He passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on January 8, 2019.

He attended Boise schools and graduated in 1980 from Capital High School. In Jr. High he was active in football and basketball. In high school he concentrated on his music, playing trumpet in the school band.

Dan was a sports fan, especially of the Minnesota Vikings and Boise State Broncos. He enjoyed playing golf and was pretty good at the game also.

Dan worked for Albertson’s grocery store for 20+ years in the produce and bakery departments at varies stores in the valley until about the last year of his life.

Dan never married as he was too busy spending time and helping various family members and friends which was his true passion in life. He truly lived to serve the ones he loved.

When his grandmother was in a nursing home he would visit almost daily and they would go “cruzin” around the valley. A friend of the family with Parkinson’s he also visited often and would take to the BSU football practices or drive to McCall for lunch. Dan also had a good friend, Rob that he enjoyed taking to all of the BSU basketball games and on a number of trips.

Dan is survived by his parents Joe and Jolene Kaeppner; brother Jim (Robin) Kaeppner; niece Nikkie Youngblood; nephew Travis Kaeppner, an Aunt and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at Summers Funeral Home, Ustick Chapel at 2 P.M. Monday, January 14, 2019.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the Daniel’s family on his memorial webpage at www.summersfuneral.com
