Obituary of Mettie Clay

Born August 28, 1924 on the family farm near Peacock, Texas, Mettie attended school at Close City, Post, and Lubbock prior to moving to Long Beach in early 1940 to work for Douglas and North American Aircraft during WWII.  She married Alfred Clay September 25, 1948 in Las Vegas and moved to Idaho in 1957.  Mettie is survived by her brother Bill Caldwell and wife Mary Alice; two children, Vickie and Rod Clay, and their spouses, Bert Young and Gaylynn Clay; two grandchildren, Adam Young and Tim Clay and wife Crystal; and three great grandchildren, Alexander, Zackary, and Ashley Clay.  Mettie enjoyed traveling, fishing, quilting, crafts, and rock hunting and was a lifetime member of the Idaho Gem Club.   Her husband Alfred preceded her in death in 1997.  She will be interred at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise at 1:30 pm on February 2, 2019.
