Obituary of Janet Laverne Rose Chase

Janet Laverne Rose Chase (75) was born May 31, 1943 at Council, Adams, Idaho. She passed away on February 7th, 2019 from cancer. Her parents were Ralph H. Rose and Anna Ruby Kenedy Rose Ballard. Janet had three older sisters Anna Mabel Rose, Verla Maxine Rose, Mary Irene Rose and later another sister Linda Jean Rose giving Ralph and Ruby five lovely daughters. At the time of Janet's birth the family was living in Indian Valley Idaho.

Jan graduated from Emmett High School in 1961 after she graduated she started Cosmetology school. She later married Mick Chase in 1964 in Sun Valley. After the wedding they lived in Portland and Salem and they had their son Rocky. They later divorced.

She was a very talented hair dresser and was on the Idaho State Cosmetology Board and certified many hair dressers.  She traveled to Washington DC and Boston for the Board. In 1986 Jan became part owner of Arnie's with Angie Ojala and Alice Dickinson. She later moved to Cutting Cabin. She worked as a hairdresser for 53 years before retiring 2014.  Her talent helped her to enjoy doing the hair for many productions for "Boise Music Week".    

The Oregon coast was very special to her and visited there often with her son and his family. One of her desires was to paint pictures of the coast, mountain scenes and flowers.

Singing was one of her hobbies. She was a 2nd alto(low) "Sounds" was the name of the group she last sang with. Crafts, quilt making and cooking were also her loves.

She is survived by her son Rodney (Rocky) Chase (Teresa), Grand-children Alyssa Veatch (Ryan), Jordan Chase, Ryan Chase (Emma), also her two grand-dogs Krystal and Fawkes. Also surviving are her sisters Anna Mabel Rose Harris (Caryl), Verla Maxine Rose Chisham (Bill), Linda Jean Rose Welch and her brother-in-law Lamar Mouritsen (Wanda Rae) and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sister Mary Irene Rose Mouritsen, her mother Anna Ruby Kenedy Rose Ballard and father Ralph, and brother-in-law Larry Welch.Memorial services are under the direction of Summers Funeral Home 3629 Ustick Rd. Meridian, ID.

The memorial service will be at the LDS church 5900 Castle Drive, Boise, ID on the 15th Feb, 2019. Visitation 10:00 a.m. Memorial service 11:00 a.m. and burial will be at Bramwell Cemetery-Emmett later that afternoon. In lieu of flowers please donate to her favorite charity "Wounded Warriors" or a charity of your choice.
