David Earles

Obituary of David Jacob Earles

On the morning of Tuesday, May 28, 2019, David Jacob Earles said goodbye to this world at the age of 31. He will be missed by so many people. David was a fun loving guy who never met a person with whom he couldn’t strike up a conversation. He always left you feeling like you had made a friend.

David loved the outdoors, nature and wildlife. Some of his best times were spent camping in his favorite spots at Grimes Creek and Cascade with friends and family. Camping and backyard barbeques were where he loved to play his classic music. He listened to all kinds of music, but you could always count on hearing some of his favorites; the Eagles, Jimmy Buffet, Alan Jackson and his camping go-to Jim Croce. David was fortunate enough to have gotten to see the Eagles live when they came to Boise.

He always used to say he was born in the wrong time period. He loved old west movies like Tombstone and Wyatt Earp. And of course… documentaries. He was a comic book buff and could tell you anything you wanted to know about Marvel and DC universes and characters, most importantly, the difference between the two! He and his kids loved to watch the movies when they came out.

David was a true sports fan. He loved his Lakers, Packers and Yankees. He could rattle off stats past and present for almost every player. His lifelong dream of seeing a Green Bay Packer game at Lambeau Field came true when he got tickets for his 30th birthday.

David loved the ocean. He always said it was so peaceful and calming to just sit on the beach and watch the water. He loved to fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves. If he could have, he would have chosen the beach for every family vacation, or better yet, just lived on house boat. He felt at peace there. His life would be complete with his family, a good steak, hamburger mac, tacos, breakfast burritos, sugar-free red bull (with a straw!) and the ocean. Of course, he would also need access to ESPN.

David loved people, although he would tell you differently. He liked to think of himself as a recluse of sorts, kind of a homebody. But yet everywhere he went he was making friends and striking up conversation. It didn’t matter where we were, when it was time to leave you had to look around for him because he would be off chatting somewhere.

David loved hanging out at home with his family. He was fiercely devoted and protective of his children; Jake (11), Brayden (9), Addyson (4), Ryder (3) and Oakley (1). They were truly his pride and joy. David leaves behind his wife of eight years, Jamie; his five children; mom, Kelly Irving; dad, George Earles; brothers, Daniel and Tucker Earles; sister, Hailey Earles; and many more family and friends. David was deeply loved by so many people and the emptiness left by his passing can never be filled. Hopefully, our hearts can be warmed by the many memories we have of the good times spent with him.
