Lesley Vanderwood

Obituary of Lesley Claire Vanderwood

Lesley Claire Vanderwood, died July 8, 2019 unexpectedly at her home in Boise, Idaho at the age of 40.

Lesley is survived by her parents, Van and Claire Vanderwood, her Fiancé William Ross, and her children Andrew Cole and Emily Ross.  She is also survived by her siblings, Amy Vanderwood [Ron Hagardt], Mary Vanderwood [Dan Heath], and Thomas Vanderwood [Anna Vanderwood], and her nephews Gavin Heath, James Hagardt, and nieces Ellowen Vanderwood, and Claire Hagardt.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents Howard and Donna Vanderwood, and William and Winona Hemminger.

Lesley was born on December 11, 1978, in Pocatello, Idaho to Van and Claire.  Because she was born at noon, the doctors told her parents to pick a time of birth, so they chose 12:03 p.m.  Little did they know that two years later, Lesley would become the middle sister as Mary was born on December 3rd (12/03).  Lesley graduated from Highland High school in 1997.  She later moved to Boise, Idaho, and attended Boise State University.

The joy of Lesley’s life was being a mother to Andrew and Emily.  She loved taking them to the park, on walks, and to the zoo.  She was a kind and gentle soul, and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  She used to tell her son that when he was stressed, or had some anger to let out: listen to AC/DC.   And she was right about that, as she always was.   She always had something to say about everything, from girls to grades, and especially regarding which restaurant to eat at. There is a hole in our hearts that can never be filled by anyone, no matter how hard they try.  No one is like her, and our family will miss her with all our hearts.
