Obituary of Richard (Dick) LeRoy Hunter
Richard (Dick) LeRoy Hunter went to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday October 12, 2019.
Dick was born April 13, 1937 to Roland and Betty Hunter in Hailey, Idaho.
Dick grew up in Hailey, where he lived an adventurous childhood. He loved living off the land, fishing, hunting, and skiing.
In his younger years, he worked in many different mines along with his dad and brother Bob.
In 1954, Dick met the love of his life, Dilla Davis, at a dance in Bellevue, Idaho. While it was a bit of a rough start, it didn't take long for Dick to win Dilla's heart.
Dick and Dilla were married in 1956 in Boise, Idaho. They were blessed with 3 children, Marina, Blaine, and Shawna.
Dick was always busy. If he wasn't enjoying the outdoors, or working on engines or fireplaces, he had his nose buried in a book. He was always studying and truly believed that the glory of God is intelligence.
Dick was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandpa, great grandpa, and a true friend. He will be dearly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.
Dick is survived by his wife Dilla, his 3 children; Marina, Blaine, and Shawna, 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, a brother Jim; and 3 sisters; Ruth, Laura, and Amy.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; Roland and Betty, step mother; Margaret, and 2 brothers; Bob and Mike.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Hospice care personnel, especially Becky for their compassionate care and concern for Dick and the family throughout this journey.
