BARBARA KRASE CHANDLER

Ever lovin’ wife since 1947 to Bill. Mom to only son, Steve & “only” daughter, Lorie. Grandma to Hilary (Jovanni), Ian (Amanda), Matt (Melissa), Clint (Shellbie), & Kaylee. Great grandma to Adrian, Marco & Cooper. Only sister to Carol (Fred). Aunt to Greg (Lora), Teri (Joe) & Rod (Rosemary). Great aunt to Gregory, Alex, Rick, Ashley, & Bradley. Cousin to Linda (Paul). Charming to the family of John & Lillian Ballard.  Regal, almost queen like to all who knew her.

Barb’s journey here on earth made a difference. Born in San Francisco, Barb captured the heart of her 3rd grade boyfriend, Bill Chandler.

World War II interrupted her competition at Wimbledon. That once little boy asked his tennis playing mama "lay your racket down babe, let's get married!" They then moved to Boise, Idaho in 1952.

Famous for the Basin Burger, Barb & Bill operated the lodge @ Bogus Basin for 19 years. Still on the court, Barb & Bill were co-founders of the Boise Racquet & Swim Club. Summer of 1957, presented the opportunity for them to pioneer the swimming pool industry in Boise Idaho. First, Swim Inc. then Custom Pools Inc., a legacy that survives them both. Barb taught swim lessons on the corner of Roosevelt & Kootenai.

Metastatic cancer eventually took Barb’s life but she twinkled her baby blues & kept her infectious smile every minute of every day! Her glass always half full, (Chandler Cocktail) her attitude, wit & grace mentored many.

You’ll always have your dedicated booth at the Stagecoach & ice cubes in red wine, never to forget you win every hand of gin rummy!

Thank you for coming, I hate to leave you alone. See you in the heavens, bring your racquet, pack your golf clubs and have your dance card ready!

A celebration of life is planned for Spring 2020 on The Barbara Chandler court @ BRSC. You are encouraged to send your memories/stories so we may include them at her party! Email: lorie@custompoolsboise.com
