Obituary of Tracy Ann Sagehorn

Tracy Ann Bonner Sagehorn, 50, wife, mother, daughter, sister and dear friend, died peacefully on January 8, 2020 at her home in Boise, ID. She was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer 7 years ago.

Tracy grew up in Pinconning, Michigan.  She attended Pinconning Area High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising from Michigan State University. After college, Tracy moved to Philadelphia and worked as an Advertising Account Executive at Thomas J. Paul Advertising.  She made her way to Boise, ID in 1994 and continued her work in the advertising business and was employed by what is now Stoltz Marketing Group.  In 2000 she moved to Seattle to work for J. Walter Thompson as the Vice President of Account Service.  She moved to Boise in late 2001 and opened then the first Doggie Daycare in Boise. She founded “The Hounds Lounge” in May of 2002. Tracy was a business owner for 8 years. Tracy married Steve Sagehorn on September 17, 2005. They welcomed their son, Cole Sagehorn on January 28th, 2008. Steve’s work took them to Alexandria VA and The Woodlands, TX for 7 fun filled years before returning to Boise in December of 2016, the place they consider home.  Tracy sold the Hounds Lounge and devoted her time to raising Cole.

An avid traveler, pet and sports lover. Tracy’s real passion was her family, close friends and giving to others. Tracy sought to instill in their son a zest for life and commitment to family, friends and people in need.  

Tracy is survived by her husband Steve Sagehorn, son Cole Sagehorn, mother Patritia Bonner, sister Shelley Peterson, nephew Kyle Peterson, brother John Bonner (Cindy Bonner), and many dear family members. Tracy is preceded in death by her father John Bonner, brother Jason Bonner, nephew Shawn Peterson, and her grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at Summers Funeral Home (Boise Chapel 1205 W. Bannock Street Boise, ID 83702) on Saturday January 11^th, 2020. Arrival between 2:00p.m. and 3:00p.m. Service to commence at 3:00p.m.  A celebration of Tracy’s life to follow at the home of Kevin & Stephanie McDonald (3912 E. Hardesty Street Boise, ID  83716).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital.

The family would like to thank St. Luke’s Hospice staff for the incredible care they gave to Tracy and her family at the end.
