Lillibelle McMillan

Obituary of Lillibelle McMillan

I was born in Carol County, Arkansas on August 8, 1935, to parents Norman Powell and Nora (Smith) Powell. We moved to Meridian, Idaho in 1936, during the depression, to find work. My parents worked picking fruit when we first arrived. Dad’s work took us to Idaho City, Sandpoint, Nyssa and Pendleton, Oregon but we always returned to our home in Meridian.

I graduated from Meridian High School in 1954 and married my husband, Reece McMillan, that same year.  We had two wonderful children, Norman “Skip” and Kelly and that developed into five precious grand-children Michael, Cheryl, Melissa, Aaron and Megan. Seven great grand-children Nicholas, Kayleigh, Ian, Cole, Kinsley, Tenley, and Keziah.

I was proceeded in death by my parents and my husband Reece. We were married just shy of 50 years. I am survived by my children Skip and his wife, Gail. Kelly Hall and her husband, Gordon; along with my wonderful grandchildren and their spouses and my great grand-children. My sister Linda Cummings and her husband, Terry of Oregon. My Niece Trisha and Nephew Todd. I also have been blessed with Reece’s family in Arkansas who have kept me as part of their family all of these years.

I love my church and church family at Ten Mile Christian Church, which I’ve been a member since I was 15 years old.

Due to the pandemic, I have requested no services but I want my children and their families to get together and enjoy a day of memories when they can be safe.
