As Ross and Nancy’s neighbors, we enjoyed their company as we watched our children grow up and leave home. Both our children shared favorite rituals with Nancy such as attending “See Spot Walk” or simply ringing the doorbell to get a homemade treat. Nancy was an amazing cook! She loved cooking for “her love and hero” Ross. She also loved to share her recipes. She would often bring me a recipe to try. It never turned out as good as Nancy’s. She never gave up on me and continued to invite me over for the occasional lesson. It was because of Nancy that I learned to make the best pie crust as she taught me the secrets to her peach pie. A Ross favorite!
We’ll remember Nancy with much fondness, and it’s difficult to think of Nancy without also thinking about Susie, their wonderful little dog. When Nancy and Susie would ring our doorbell, Susie would be the first to dance inside to announce their arrival. Nancy and Susie were a fixture at Saturday Market. Everybody knew, loved, and welcomed this pair! Even our two cats loved a visit from Susie and Nancy. The neighborhood has not been the same without her. Our hearts go out to Ross and the family in this very difficult time.
We miss you so much, Nancy.
