Obituary of John Thomas Tucker

John Thomas Tucker was born July 25, 1930 in Boise, ID, the son of Wilbur and Maude (Jennings) Tucker.  He died June 26, 2021 at a care center in Emmett, ID at the age of 90.

John graduated from Garden Valley High School in 1948.  Following graduation, he worked in various local jobs in Garden Valley including core drilling. 

John joined the military and served in the United States Army Signal Corps from March of 1951 and was honorably discharged in February of 1953.  Following his discharge from the military, he began a 20 year career with the Bureau of Reclamation.

In 1963, John married Pilar Elorriaga in Jordan Valley, Oregon.  They lived in Jordan Valley for 10 years, before moving to Garden Valley, ID in 1973.  In Garden Valley, John became a rancher. 

John was a member of the Elks Club in Caldwell for over 50 years, the Poachers Club, and the Payette River Cattlemen Association for over 20 years.

John is survived by his brother, Jim (Letha) Tucker; his sister, Virginia Marston; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pilar Elorriaga Tucker.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Summers Funeral Home, 3629 E. Ustick Road, Meridian. John will be buried with his wife, Pilar, at the Jordan Valley Cemetery at a later date.
