Obituary of Gerry Ann Francis

Our wonderful mother, Geraldine “Gerry” Ann Francis, 73, passed away on June 28, 2021 from complications of kidney disease.  She was a devoted mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend.

Gerry was born on May 27, 1948 in Tiffin, Ohio and was the second of two children to Gerald and Lillian. Gerry was raised along with her sister, Mary Kay in Tiffin, Ohio. She graduated from Calvert High School, and attended Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio. She married Jim Francis in 1975 and they had two  daughters, Jennifer and Elizabeth. They raised their children in Chicago, Illinois, Ogden, Utah and Boise, Idaho.

 She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Lindsay (Clayton) of Portland, OR, Elizabeth Hutchinson (Mark) of Boise, ID. Her grandchildren: Carter, Allison, Brooklyn and Lucas. Her sister Mary Kay Wessel (Dennis) of Attleboro, MA, and her nieces and nephews: Mark, Kristin, Scott and Kate and seven great nieces and nephews. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Gerald and Lillian Boner.

Gerry spent the majority of her career working at St. Luke’s Hospital in Meridian, Idaho, where she built a beloved and cherished community of friends and colleagues. She developed her faith at a young age and remained a devout catholic her whole life.  Her strong faith helped guide her through many difficult times.  Gerry loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends. She was an avid sports fan who really enjoyed watching and talking about football.  Everyone who knew Gerry, loved her. She was known for her wonderful personality and infectious laugh. She easily made and developed friendships that lasted throughout her life.  She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

A  service will take place at Holy Apostles Catholic Church on Friday, August 6th at 11:00.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
