Obituary of William D Wood

William D (Bill) Wood, son of the late Charles Lashley Wood and late Edris (Bybee) Wood was born October 29th, 1923 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He attended and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1941, and later went on to attend NYA school in Weiser Idaho. Here, Bill met the love of his life, K. Lucille (Kroush) Wood, and they would be united in Holy Matrimony on September 26th, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bill went on to become an exemplary carpenter before joining the Navy Seabees during World War Two. He served two and a half years in the South Pacific Area- and accomplished one battle star during this time. Despite his exemplary time as a carpenter, where he constructed many beautiful buildings, he also maintained playing in a World Series fast pitch softball tournament in Florida in 1953 , as well as being a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in Boise, Idaho. Bill will always be remembered as an outstanding father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whom will never be forgotten by the many lives he touched in his many years. Bill quietly departed from this life Saturday, July 24th, 2021 in Boise, Idaho with family surrounding him. He is preceeded in death by his father Charles Lashley Wood (Edris Wood), brother Charles Eugene Wood, Brother Russell Wood,Brother Richard Wood, sister Louise Wood, and loving wife K. Lucille Wood. His wonderful life will be forever cherished by his sister Bonnie Hatch of Bountiful Utah, brother Paul Wood of Fresno, California, Son Michael Charles Wood (Catherine) of Meridian, Idaho, Son William Lynn Wood (Cindy) of Gilbert, Arizona, and Daughter Kathleen Whitmer (Rich), of Boise, Idaho. He is also survived by one grandson, four granddaughters, three great grandsons, four great granddaughters, one step great grandson, and one great great grandson.
