Obituary of James R Cobley

Jim Cobley, 77, passed away peacefully on Jan. 24 after a short battle with cancer. 

Jim was born on March 28, 1944, in Boise, ID to Margaret Anderson and John Cobley Sr.  Jim attended schools in Boise and graduated from Boise High School in 1962. He received a BA from BSU in 1977. 

Jim served in the Idaho Army National Guard from 1961-1969.  In 1966 he was hired on by the Boise Police Department where he worked as a patrol officer until retirement in 1996. 

Survivors include his sister Lorraine Wodyga, brother Jerry Cobley (Sue), and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces/nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents and his older brother John Cobley Jr.

A special thanks to Dr Bollinger with Palliative Care and Kayla and the staff with Hospice for the care and understanding they gave.  Special thanks also to the staff at MISTI. 

Graveside services will be held at 2pm on February 4, 2022, at Dry Creek Cemetery.  Any donations can be made in Jim’s name to MISTI or your favorite charity.
