Born October 3, 1933 Bucks County Bristol, Pennsylvania

Passed Away March 22, 2022 Boise, Idaho

Mathilde “Tillie” was born on the Springland Estate along the Neshaminy River north of Philadelphia, PA. She moved to California with her parents and sister at the age of 2 where she spent most of her youth in La Jolla and Montebello. She went to grade school at St. Benedict’s Catholic School in Montebello. Always ambitious, her freshman year of high school was spent at the St. Therese of the Little Flower Girls School in Philadelphia, PA, and her sophomore year of high school was spent at the Bishop Conaty Catholic High School in Los Angeles, CA. She joined the convent with the Sisters of the Presentation Order at age 15 where she was able to finish high school with honors.

Tillie worked with the Sisters of the Presentation for many years and took on the name of Sister Mary Reginald. She began her life’s passion of teaching many subjects in many languages with the Sisters of this Order.

She continued her career of teaching outside the convent. During her time in Mexico, she met her beloved husband, Leonard Webb, in 1977. Together they traveled with his career bringing them to many places abroad. She loved the adventure of it all. She and Leonard settled in Waldorf, MD, until his death. Seeking the sun and ocean of her childhood she moved back to California for several years before settling in Boise, Idaho, to be close to family.

Tillie continued her teaching career well into her seventies. She taught preschool-aged children all the way up to post university students. One of her most cherished teaching positions was at Georgetown University where she helped to prepare other teachers for the classroom.

Tillie was known for her beautiful red hair and radiant smile. She would listen intently to others and always had encouraging words of wisdom for them. She loved life, her Catholic faith, and her many friends and family. She had a brilliant mind and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco, a master’s degree from the University of Michigan, and her Doctoral Degree from Nova Southeastern University of Florida.

Tillie’s family would like to thank TrueWood by Merrill Assisted Living for giving her the care that they have for the past ten years. She met and cherished many friends within the staff and residents.

Tillie was preceded in death by her father, Jetmund Knut Litell; her mother, Anna Marie Litell; her husband, Leonard Webb; and her brother Jerry Vincent Litell. She is survived by her sisters Anne Marie Piccotti, Sr. Mary Catherine Litell, and Cecelia Nixon. Her husband’s children Barry Webb, Craig Webb, Chris Webb, and Charleen Wazniak, and many nieces and nephews.
