Obituary of Donna Jean Lungren

Donna Jean Lungren was born August 21, 1936, in Boise, ID, to George and Gladys Nowland.

Donna was a bright light in this world and was a true joy to her family and friends.  Her wit, laugh, and smile were always on display.  Donna was a large presence in the lives of many people and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Donna graduated from Boise High School in 1954 and, shortly thereafter, she married Ed Lungren.  Ed was in the Air Force and went on to become an airplane pilot.  Ed and Donna were based in Seattle and Phoenix during these years, and they traveled extensively in the US and throughout the world.

Donna and Ed were the proud parents of two sons, Dan Edward, and Bradford Charles.  The family loved the outdoors and spent countless hours snow skiing, boating, waterskiing, and golfing together.  These years were some of the happiest of Donna’s life.

Donna returned to Boise and found the Bahá’i Faith, a faith she cherished the remainder of her life.  Donna loved her Boise Bahá’i community and found much peace and meaning in her time with them.

Donna is survived by her much-loved son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Cathy Lungren, of Cle Elum, WA, and her grandchildren, Stefan and Danielle.  Other special people in Donna’s life include Nicole Lungren, Kate Creswell Johnson, Molly Steckel, Amy Keim-DesRosier and Delphine Keim.

Many loved ones preceded Donna in death, most notably her beloved son, Brad, as well as her siblings and other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, Sept 6, 2022, at Cloverdale Cemetery in Boise.
