Obituary of Marilyn L. Cameron Myers

Marilyn L Cameron Myers age 82 passed away September 09, 2022 at her home in Meridian, Idaho.
Mom was born in Hailey Idaho, January 25, 1940 to Merwin E Cameron & Ella Kelley Cameron.
Mom joined the Marines right out of High School & was stationed in San Diego until she married and
became pregnant, and back then that ended her stint with the Marines. She later married our dad Walter
Dean Myers and joined the Idaho Army National Guard from 1974 until retirement in 1995.
Mom was the first female Chief Warrant Officer in the State of Idaho. I believe the 13th in the United
States. She was sworn in by the Governor of Idaho which at that time was Cecil Andrus. Dad was so
proud of her, even though he had to salute her; it made him beam with pride! You could see it in his eyes.
During their almost 50 years of marriage, they had many adventures. They both loved to travel & make
memories; which they did.
When we lost dad in February of this year it was a hard transition for mom to be without the love of her
life. They are once again together. We know she is rejoicing with Dad, Debbie Jean, Chuck, Mike,
Juanita & all the other family & friends that have gone before.
She will be missed greatly, but we are happy she has made it to her happy place!
Mom, we love you & will miss you, but until we meet again, Shine Bright! You and dad are off to new
adventures!

Special thanks to Linda Myers for coming from AZ to help after mom was first diagnosed & Debora
Zellner for driving from PA to Idaho to help us with mom in her last 3 + weeks of her life. Debora is a true
Angel here on Earth!
We'd also like to thank St Luke's Home Health & Hospice for their great care of mom.

Children: Debbie Myers Emry (Ron), Deania Canterbury (Dale), Cindy Myers, Jody Cowns (Preston),
Kevin Mereness (Laura Lee)
16 Grandkids:
Abby Holmes (Andy), Autumn Meadows (Kyle) Josh Myers, Cadie Myers, Robert Daniels (Gwen), Barb
Daniels (Kent), Mike Daniels, Brian Daniels (Suzanne), Dawn Coleman (Charlie), Jack Kessler (Reese),
Steven Rice (Jennifer), Zane Rice (Kristy), Brian Thacker, Kelsey Thacker, JR Williams (Lea), Amanda
Williams.
There are many Great & Great Great Grandkids too numerous to list. She loved each & everyone of you
very much!
Predeceased by: Father: Merwin E. Cameron Mother: Ella Kelley Cameron Sister: Darlene Cameron
Porter Step-daughter: Debbie Jean Thacker Sons: Chuck & Mike Myers and last but not least the love of
her life. Husband: Walter Dean Myers.
Mom will be Inurned at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery September 29, 2022 at 1pm. Reception to
follow immediately after at Summers Funeral Home (Ustick) at 3629 E Ustick Road, Meridian 83642. We
would love to have you come and share your memories of Mom.
