Obituary of Vickie Horner

In loving memory of Vickie Horner, who passed away on October 22, 2022.  She leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Vickie was born in Boise, Idaho on January 24, 1955, to Eino and Leona Maki.  She is survived by her two children, Jarry and Carame Horner; her siblings Teri Dubois (Paul), Bob Maki, Tim Maki (Tina), Tami Shaffer (John); and mother Leona Maki.

She was a wonderfully kind and caring person who always put the needs of others before her own.  As an active member of Nampa’s Church of the Rock, she played an instrumental role in collecting and stocking backpacks with food and supplies for those less fortunate.

Vickie loved puzzles, board games, watching movies with her family, and had a passion for music and singing.  She relished her time with the church chorus and never missed an opportunity to attend spiritual studies where she forged lifelong friendships.

She was a woman of dignity, family, and faith who taught us the importance of compassion and happiness.

Friends and family will gather for a celebration of Vickie’s life at the Church of the Rock, 903 6th Street North, Nampa, ID 83687 on Sunday November 13th at 2:00pm.  We encourage those attending to wear a hint of purple, her favorite color.

Mom, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. We love you so very much. Rest in peace.
