Marlene Russell

Obituary of Marlene Russell

Marlene passed away peacefully in Boise, Idaho on November 16, 2022. She was born in New Plymouth, Idaho on August 28, 1932, to William and Myrtle Lumsden. She and her brother Bill were raised in the New Plymouth area. She graduated from Emmett High School in 1950, and then went on to graduate from College of Idaho. She moved to California, teaching school in Sunnyvale where she met Dave Russell, a fellow Idaho transplant. They fell in love and were married in 1959. A few years later they moved back to Idaho to be able to raise their two daughters closer to family. Marlene did a wonderful job of caring for her family and pets and was always there when they needed her. She was a lifelong Christian, and was extremely thoughtful, kind, content, and generous. She had a great sense of humor and was always fun to talk to. Some activities she enjoyed were singing, reading, drawing, any kind of puzzles, and crafts. She was a dedicated BSU athletics fan and rarely missed a game. Marlene was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She left behind her daughter Camille (Derrick) Personette, grandchildren Lindsey and Ryan, great-granddaughter Amani, daughter Lisa (Brian) Wilson, grandchildren Jake and Janae (Beau) Bromgard, and another great-granddaughter on her way, her brother Bill (Darlene) Lumsden, and their children and granddaughter, and numerous cousins. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Overland Court Senior Living and Keystone Healthcare and Hospice. We greatly appreciate all your support and care.
