Obituary of David L. York

David Lee York celebrated his life on March 15, 1935 and left us peacefully on January 3, 2023.  He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Darlene York, his three children Wendy, Roland "Bud", Marlaina, his four Grandchildren Dustin, Heather, Kate, Hannah, his five Great Grandchildren, and older sister Elaine VanGelder.

As a young Irishman of Brownville Junction, Maine, Dave enlisted in the United States Air Force. He spent twenty-one years, where he proudly served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars, before retiring as a Tech Sargent. Afterwards he spent a lifetime devoted to the profession of Environmental Safety & Health Engineer, until he retired.

He enjoyed much of his life, as a sportsman, bass fishing and hunting with his son, and later in life he enjoyed going fishing with his good friend and neighbor, Dale Massee.

There will be a viewing for family and friends of Dave York at the Summer's Funeral Home on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  There will not be a public funeral.  He will be laid to rest at the Veteran's Cemetery, Boise, Idaho.  His family asks that if you would like to send flowers, to please donate, in his name, to the VA Hospital in Boise instead.
