Arthur Easley

Obituary of Arthur Frank Easley

Arthur Frank Easley (Art), 84 years old, from Meridian, Idaho, passed away quietly in his sleep in the early morning hours of 8 February 2023, after a long battle with prostate and bone cancer. He is survived by his wife, Lois, their four children, Mike, Logan, Frank, and Lori, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Arthur served for 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring as a Chief Photographer’s Mate in 1977. After his time in the Navy, he moved his family from Pensacola, Florida to Kimberly, Idaho, where he took over operation of a small family farm.

While farming, he attended the College of Southern Idaho and received an Associate Degree in Horticulture. Arthur served as a Twin Falls City Policeman as well as a Patrolman in the City of Kimberly. After his time in civil law enforcement, he worked for the College of Southern Idaho as the Night Security Supervisor on campus. Arthur retired from the College of Southern Idaho in 1995, when his battle with cancer began.

He was very active in Masonry, mentoring fellow Masons and working on the family farm. In 2008 Art and Lois moved to Boise to be closer to  his family and needed healthcare. He served as the Most Illustrious Grand Master for the State of Idaho from 2011-2012. Art enjoyed fly-fishing, camping, hunting with his family, and telling a good fish story.

He was the undefeated chess and cribbage champion of the family. He was very active in the youth sports of any community in which he resided, coaching, and mentoring his kids and thousands of others in basketball, football, and baseball. He truly had the heart of a servant for youth and their development. It was rare to see him without his camera at any family or sporting event, often to the chagrin of his children. He helped mentor his children and was rather successful in that endeavor.

Mike Easley is a retired Navy Lieutenant; Logan Easley is a former professional Major League Baseball Player; Frank Easley is a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer; Lori Otter is a former Miss Idaho U.S.A. and the former First Lady of Idaho.

Fair winds and following seas, Chief. We love You and We Will Miss You!
