Obituary of Max Clark

Max Clark was born September 19, 1934. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on February 13, 2023.

Max is survived by Barbara, his loving wife of 65 years; sons, Wes (Janet), Wayne (Patti), Warren (Tere); Brothers Terry Clark (Anita), Lynn King; Eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Max was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys, his father, John, and six siblings (four brothers and two sisters).

Max was born in Twin Falls where his father farmed. At a young age the family moved to Gooding, Idaho. After another relocation, Max completed Junior High and High School in Glenns Ferry. There he met the love of his life and future wife, Barbara Jane Trail. Max spent two years in the U.S. Army, stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Following his honorable discharge, Max began working for Idaho Power Company. Max married Barbara on April 28, 1957.  He made his career as a Power Plant Operator and along the way taught and trained many others in the demands and intricacies of the career.  The majority of his career was spent at Brownlee Dam in Hells Canyon, where they raised their sons.

As a loving family man, Max enjoyed hunting, fishing, and teaching his boys to do the same. He taught them a love of camping and all the outdoor activities that living in the Hells Canyon area provided. Max enjoyed traveling and the annual family trips to the Oregon coast. He developed a keen interest in Intarsia wood working, creating many mosaic-like art pieces from various natural woods. 

Max will be missed by his family and friends!

Services will be held at Summers Funeral Home, 3629 E. Ustick Rd., Meridian on Saturday, February 18, 2023.  Viewing 10:00 - 11:00. Service at 11:00 a.m. immediately following, a light lunch. Interment at Glenn Rest Cemetery, 2005 Frontage Rd., Glenns Ferry at 3:00 pm.
