Obituary of Frances Irene Sheneberger

Frances Irene Harms Sheneberger was born April 6, 1929 in Dixon, Illinois to Oliver Harms and Mary LeFevre Harms, and moved on to heaven April 19, 2023. 

The Harms family lived on a farm near Woosung, Illinois, where she attended a one-room country school for eight years with the same teacher.  She graduated from Dixon High School in 1947, and from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1952.  Then she moved to the Appalachian area of Kentucky where she taught school and then Bible lessons in schools and camps for nearly five years.

On August 20, 1957 Frances married Carl L. Sheneberger in Dixon, and moved to California, where Carl was employed for 34 years at Moody Institute of Science near Los Angeles.  In Whittier, they raised their six children, Linda, Leland, Laura, Leonard, Lillian and Lester.  Frances was active in several schools in PTA and other areas, as well as child care, senior adult facilities, and foreign student hospitality.

In 1996 Carl and Frances moved to Boise, Idaho and were active in Gideons, church work and ministering to sick and elderly, as well as enjoying their family, most of whom had come to Idaho.  In January 2015 they moved to an independent living facility and their house was sold. 

Carl passed away July 11, 2016.  Frances was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harry and Byron, nephew David, and grandsons David and John.

She is survived by all six of her children, 15 grandchildren: Kurt, Daniel, Jonathan, Andrew, Nathan, Shareya, Joel, Grace, James, Morgan, Joy, Logan, Kaitlyn, Taylor and Lexi, as well as 8 great-grandchildren: Matthew, Leo, Aubree, Amelia, Noelle, Elisa, Archie and Adalynn.
