Obituary of John Matthew Mosqueda

John Matthew Mosqueda was born on April 29th and unexpectedly passed away on June 6th, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Allie Mosqueda, his parents, John Mosqueda, Monica Mouw, step-mom Dominique Mosqueda, siblings Adriana, Michael, Lillian, and Joseph, and a large extended family that includes his grandparents, Tias & Tios, cousins that are more like siblings to him; as well as his lifelong friends that will miss him desperately.

John was an intelligent, empathetic, loyal, funny, quiet, and very private young man. He had a deep love for God & tried to live his life in a way he felt would best incorporate his love for God. In his short life John has had the strength to try and overcome hurdles that would have left anyone feeling lost with the weight that came with those challenges.

He suffered a horrible accident in Junior High that caused significant burns to his legs. At 17 he was diagnosed with a heart condition that caused him to have to get a pacemaker. In 2020 he tragically lost his younger brother, Davis. Yet despite all of that, he could still laugh with his friends, hang out with his sisters, spend time with his father while hunting or fishing, play video games for hours with his little brothers or cousins, go on nature adventures with his wife, or simply enjoy being outside with friends & family while long boarding. He married his love & best friend, Allie Owings, on May 24th, 2021. True to his nature he had a private ceremony outdoors surrounded by nature & immediate family.

John felt most at home outdoors exploring nature or spending time with his close family & friends. Growing up he loved being up in the mountains at his family's cabin in Yellow Pine, Idaho. As a little boy he dreamed of growing up & owning his own land near Yellow Pine. As an adult his love of the outdoors grew, and he was able to share that passion with his wife by going on mulitple trips exploring the outdoors.

From the time he was a little boy he could be counted on to try & rescue any furry creature that may have passed his path. In elementary school he fought valiantly to try & save a baby bird that had been kicked out of its nest. The baby bird died within in a few days; but its short little life was extended because of Johnny’s intense devotion & compassion. John's love for animals continued well into adult hood as is evident by the slew of pets he has owned through out his life.

Everyone in John’s life has been touched & irrevocably changed by how deeply he loved them & the loyalty he showed towards them. This world needs more men who live their lives based on conviction, loyalty, love, and compassion. John Matthew Mosqueda’s absence from this world will be forever felt by those lucky enough to have been in his life. He made a difference during the brief time we were blessed to have had him in this world & the echoes of his loss will be felt forever.
