Linda Lewies

Obituary of Linda Elizabeth Lewies

Linda Elizabeth Lewies, 66, of Meridian, ID, danced out of the spotlight on August 24, 2023, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy. She was born on September 6, 1956, in Ashton, ID, bringing laughter and cheer to her adoring parents, Harry and Lillian Lewies.

Linda was the ultimate party starter - a true master of merriment. With her infectious energy and quick wit, she could turn any frown upside down. Socializing, cracking jokes, and busting a move were her specialties, making every room she entered instantaneously more vivacious. It’s no surprise she won Junior Miss in 1973 at South Fremont High.  After graduating in 1974, Linda earned a Bachelor’s degree from Utah State and her Master’s degree from Idaho State University.

Harnessing her extraordinary talent, Linda dedicated 37 fabulous years to the field of school counseling. Her true calling and legacy was with the children. Linda’s combined gift of compassion & humor blossomed when interacting with the little ones. She had an unparalleled magic in capturing their attention and uplifting their spirits.  Countless little lives have been forever changed by her love.

While spreading sunshine was her passion, Linda found solace and joy in the finer things in life. Music, reading, marathoning movies, playing with kitties, jigsaw puzzles and knitting were a few things that brought her happiness. Attending concerts and exploring the wonders of the world with her soul mate John completed her colorful canvas. She loved to hit all the right notes with the volume turned all the way up!

Linda will forever be cherished by her devoted partner, John Barnett, and her children Ebin and Melissa. The radiant light of her life extended to her grandchildren, Gracie and Zamona, who inherited her zest for life. She leaves behind her siblings - Julie, Lonnie, and Karl - as well as her beloved nieces and nephews: Mary, Mitch, Chad, Justin and Kara.

To honor Linda's spirit, a Celebration of Life will be held on September 9th, 2023 at 2 PM at Summers Funeral Home, located at 3629 E Ustick Rd, Meridian, ID 83646. Join us as we celebrate her incredible journey filled with laughter, love, and a never-ending playlist of joy.

Instead of mourning with flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or, in true Linda fashion, consider rescuing a kitty cat. Emulating her compassionate nature toward animals will honor her everlasting legacy of love.

Linda Elizabeth Lewies may have sashayed off of the dance floor of life, but her spirit dances on, leaving behind a legacy of unabashed fun and indomitable spirit. We raise our glasses and bid her farewell, knowing she's already lighting up the heavens above with her glittering charisma and heavenly humor. Break out your best moves, Linda - the party never ends!
