Obituary of Marjorie Kathleen Bonner Cornwell Seabright

Marjorie Kathleen Bonner Cornwell Seabright was born on December 29, 1934, near Richfield, ID, to James and Lillian (Raeburn) Bonner. She was the youngest of seven children. Marjorie attended Parma High School where she played tennis and was the state champion runner-up one year. She graduated from PHS in 1953 and married James Roland Cornwell that October. They had three children - Rhonda, James, and Jennifer.

Marjorie joined the Boise Raquet & Swim Club in 1975 and was a lifetime member. She made many lifelong friends through her tennis playing, traveling to tournaments throughout Idaho, sectional tournaments in Utah and Colorado, and even USTA Nationals in 1990 in Tuscon, AZ, at the 4.5 level.

In addition to tennis, Marjorie greatly loved to play bridge, which she learned in 1964 while living in Kansas City, MO. She continued to enjoy playing bridge with friends and family for the rest of her life, even teaching others to play the game.

Her Scottish heritage was very special and important to her, and she traveled to Scotland twice. She loved the history, the tartans, and most especially the bagpipes, and she loved sharing that with her family. Marjorie would visit her daughter, Rhonda, in South Carolina so they could drive to the big Highland festivals in Georgia. She also attended Highland Games in Portland, OR, and Spokane, WA, with daughter Jennifer and family.

"Margie" loved Boise, which she considered her hometown. She enjoyed concerts at the Morrison Center, Art in the Park, and seeing movies at the Flicks. She was grateful to have been able to live most of her life in her beloved city.

Marjorie is predeceased by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her three children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. There will not be a memorial service, but if you would like to honor her memory, please make a donation to the Dementia Society of America, the National Trust for Scotland, the USTA Foundation, or the Boise Highlanders Bagpipe Band.
