Danella Yarbrough Davis was born in Bethany, Oklahoma May 3, 1943, to Dan and Mary Yarbrough. Her family moved to Albuquerque New Mexico in the early 50s. She and her parents attended the Nazarene church all their lives. Danella learned to play the piano at a very young age and was very proficient at it. She and her mother played piano and organ for the church for many years. She met Oliver Davis in church in January 1961. They dated for a couple of years and were married on April 12, 1963. They had a wonderful marriage for 60 years.

 

Danella taught high school business classes for 26 years in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  She also sponsored many clubs and activities, including cheerleading and business clubs.   Danella was selected to help to start a new high school in Albuquerque.  She ended her career in education as a Vice Principal at Los Alamos High School in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

 

Danella was very active in the churches she attended.  She was the church pianist for much of her life.  She also worked with children and college students, teaching Sunday School classes and leading Children’s Church with her husband Ollie.

 

After retirement, Danella moved from Los Alamos, New Mexico to Sierra Vista, Arizona.  She was committed to helping to care for her grandchildren and moved several times to be able to continue.  She lived in Atlanta, Georgia, Pryor, Oklahoma, Pueblo, Colorado, and passed away on January 23, 2024, at her home in Star, Idaho.

 

She is survived by her husband, Ollie, her two children a son, Wink, and a daughter, Kristy, and six wonderful grandchildren who she worshiped, and they worshiped her. She will be greatly missed.
