Obituary of Charles Ross

Charles "Charlie" Robert Ross passed away on March 14, 2013 in Boise, ID after battling cancer. Charlie was 76 at the time of his passing. Charlie was the son of Charles and Sarah Ross from Sate College, PA. He was born on May 1, 1936 in Rush Township, PA. He grew up in Snow Shoe and St. Mary's, PA. After graduation he spent a year at the Merchant Marine Academy. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1958. He retired from the Navy in 1976. His time in the Navy was spent learning and teaching Electronics. His Naval career allowed him opportunities to travel and live all over the United States. Charles moved to Utah after his retirement where he met and married his wife June Baxter Ross. He continued to be involved in electronics repair. He moved to Boise, ID in 1998. Charlie's favorite activities in Idaho involved fishing and camping. He had a favorite camping spot in Cascade that allowed him to do both. He also enjoyed working in his garden and yard. Charlie is survived by his wife, June; his daughters, Shyrle Ross-Bullington Swartz of Mukilteo, WA, Ann Larsen of Mayer,AZ; a stepdaughter, Ann May Davis of Boise, ID; his sons, Emmet Ross of Warrenton, VA, Ray Ross of Boise, ID, William Ross of Boise, ID, and Sean Ross of Boise, ID; and 10 grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel, 3629 E. Ustick Rd, Meridian. Inurnment will follow at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
