Obituary of Harold Watson

Harold (Hal) Franklyn Watson age 80, died peacefully at home in Florence, Oregon on Thursday, September 20, 2012. He was born in Seattle, Washington May 25, 1932 to Percy and Fern Deuel Watson. In 1936, the family moved to Boise, where Harold attended Central, North and Boise High Schools. He attended Boise Junior College, served in the Air Force, and then graduated from San Jose State. In 1952, he married Clarice Hawkes; together they had 3 children. His career took the family many places including Colorado, Missouri, Wyoming, Florida, California, Idaho, Virginia, Maryland, Iran, Thailand and Saudi Arabia. Besides his beloved family, Harold's passions included skiing, fishing, BSU football, carpentry, VFW volunteering, and tinkering with cars. He was always the first one to join in with a song or hop to the dance floor. He had a joyous laugh and cando, lively spirit. He will be greatly missed by his family and many lifelong friends. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Sally (Dale) Watson Hazeltine, sons Michael (Marta), and Robert (Leticia); and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Virginia and Jean, and his first wife Clarice. Services will be held Friday, October 26th, 2012 at 2pm at Summers Funeral Homes, 1205 W. Bannock St., Boise, Idaho.
