Audrey Isabelle Harvey was born April 23, 1928 in Butte, Montana; she was the eldest child of Norman and May (Maunder) Harvey. She grew up in Montana and attended school in Butte. Upon high school graduation in 1947, Audrey moved to Boise, ID to attend the St. Luke's School of Nursing and received her RN license in 1950. She moved to Twin Falls, ID where she went to work for two years as a surgical nurse in the office of a surgeon. On March 28, 1954, she was married to Dale Vernon Anderson in Twin Falls, ID. They lived in Cascade, ID where Dale was employed by Boise Payette Lumber Company and then Boise Cascade. Two of their three children were born in Cascade. During this time, Audrey worked as a RN in the Cascade Hospital. The family moved to Colorado in 1960, then to Boise in 1962 where their youngest child was born. Audrey was an avid bowler for 32 years and in fact, won the Gutter Gussie Club Singles Competition (Bowlers with games over 225 and series of 600 or better) in January 1982 with a 674 series and received a WIBC Medal in 1977 with a 276. She loved to play bridge and was a 46 year member of Chapter AY, P.E.O. Sisterhood where she served as the State Cottey Chairman in 1972. Audrey was very involved with her children's activities as she volunteered her time with Job's Daughters, serving on Bethel 54's council, volunteered to be the nurse on numerous Girl Scout campouts, and volunteered to be chaperone on Capital HS Band and Drill Team trips as well as baked countless cakes, cookies and cupcakes for school fundraisers. She also raised money for Easter Seals and March of Dimes and other philanthropic causes. She enjoyed working on Election Day at polling places until her retirement. She traveled the Western US, to Australia and New Zealand and to the state of Alaska several times for logging conferences with Dale. In her spare time, Audrey liked to try new recipes from her collection of cookbooks, crochet, knit, quilt and create beautiful needlepoint pictures and pillows. Although she did not attend the University of Idaho, she was a devoted Vandal Booster through the years.
