Obituary of Elden Stokes

Elden Dale Stokes 1987-2012 Elden Dale Stokes was born August 31, 1987 in Boise, Idaho, to Scott and Karol Stokes. He passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 in Boise. When he was five, his family moved to Coeur d'Alene. He attended Coeur d'Alene Schools and graduated from Lake City High School with the Class of 2006. He spent his first year of college at ISU, and when his family moved to Boise, he joined them and obtained his degree in Economics from BSU in 2011. He loved being with family, riding bikes - and doing tricks on them, eating donuts, driving his Saab and taking the back roads whenever possible. He had a great sense of humor and a delightful personality. He was an avid reader and had a broad knowledge of many subjects - he was fun to talk to. He was gifted in drawing and treasured music, especially when it was playing from his old record player. He had a marvelous bass singing voice. One of his great joys was being out in nature exploring, and he loved all animals - showing special care for the family cats. He was practical, unassuming, mechanically minded, and never met a stranger. His pure heart and gentle kindness are the hallmarks of his life. He is a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a seminary graduate, and an Eagle Scout. Elden will forever be loved and adored by his parents Scott and Karol Stokes, brother Steve Stokes (Jaquel), sister Amy K. Stokes Ricks (Aaron) and new baby Austin, and twin sisters Jenny and Julie Stokes -he always looked out for the twins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandfather. He carries the names of his two grandfathers. He overcame some serious health challenges in his youth and was a courageous example to everyone he came in contact with during that time. As a memorial to Elden, our family asks that you hug your children often and keep them close, for we have learned how fragile life really is. Death demands that we consider life. Please consider using the money that may be spent on floral tributes, and treating someone to dinner or a show. That's the way Elden would want it. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday March 10, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1950 S. Locust Grove, Meridian, ID 83642. Burial will follow at Meridian Cemetery.
