Obituary of John Lynch

John was born to Corda Jane (Wallace) and Willard Lynch in Nyssa, Oregon and attended St. Joseph School for boys and Boise High School. He enlisted with the United States Navy as a member of the underwater demolition team (Navy Seal) gunners mate. He was in the Korean War as well as World War II. John met Charlotte Mills and married the love of his life on June 13, 1948. They had two children, Bene Cerelle and John Thomas, Jr. (Jack). John owned a bar in Marsing, Idaho called Jak's, worked as a special agent in insurance, Morris Knudsen as a welder, and settled in for a long career as a journeyman boiler maker in the Union working all over the United States. He worked on the Hoover Dam during that time. He retired in 1993 and enjoyed time with his wife walking in Kathryn Albertson Park with his beloved dogs, hunting, camping and fishing. John had a love for the great outdoors and had many adventures with his family and friends. He collected guns and loaded his own ammo. His wife passed away in 2000, though he missed her dearly, he continued living a full life, took scuba diving lessons at age 80, spent time with his dear friends the Acarregui's at Deer Creek, joined a weight lifting program at the BSU Kinesiology Dept. and enjoyed his dogs and the arrival of his great granddaughter in 2005. Although he battled cancer for many years, most of his friends had no idea as he was a quiet warrior. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Shrine Temple. John blessed many lives, lived with dignity and grace, and strengthened our lives. He died on his beloved wife's date of birth. She welcomed home a precious gift. Lynch, Jr.; granddaughters, Dusty Chantel Reamey and Melissa Bene Lynch; and great granddaughter, Charlotte Cerelle Franks. Donations in John's honor can be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children, Fairfax Ave. & Virginia Street, Salt Lake City UT 84103; or the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman, Boise, ID 83711. Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12th at Summers Funeral Homes, 1205 W. Bannock Street, Boise, with viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Morris Hill Cemetery. A luncheon for his friends and family will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Leku Ona Restaurant, 117 S. 6th Street, Boise, ID. "Go East Brother John, God Speed."
