Obituary of Beverly Limb

Our vivacious wife, mother, and "Nana", Beverly Limb, died peacefully at home on October 20, 2011. She was a beauty from the start: born October 1, 1922 in Salt Lake City, UT to Charles Peterson and Minnie Horkin Peterson, Beverly was the youngest of five children and from early on, she charmed people with her dark hair and that sparkle in her eyes. She graduated from Ogden High School and then graduated from Weber State in 1939, an unusual accomplishment for a young woman in her day. For the next few years, she enjoyed an independent life that included friends, skiing, modeling, and working in a department store, where in 1942 she caught the attention of Alfred "Bud" Limb, the love of her life. Their courtship was swift and soon he proposed on bended knee, at high noon, in downtown Salt Lake City. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 14th, 1942; the beginning of a 69 year journey together! They raised three children, built many friendships, traveled around the world, and saw six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren join the family. Beverly was a lifetime member of the Hidden Valley Country Club (both socially and as a volunteer), an avid bowler, bridge player and a great friend to both people and animals. After building a deeply connected life in Salt Lake City for many years, Beverly and Bud moved to Boise in 2001 to be closer to family in the area. Beverly joined a bridge club and quickly made friends. She also enjoyed times spent with family: holidays, Sunday afternoons on the back patio, lunch and a movie, and watching her favorite sports, golf and football. Her great grandchildren loved to raid the candy dish at Nana's house and ride the doggie. Through it all, Beverly lived her life with an elegance, wit, and generosity that touched all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and son, James A. Limb. She is survived by her husband, daughters Judy and Connie, grandchildren Michael Bennion, Paul Bennion, Paige Miller, Travis Stock, Jason Stock, and A.J. Stock, and their families. A celebration of our Nana's life will take place on Tuesday, October 25th at 3 p.m. at the home of Michael and Danielle Bennion (9238 W. Beachside Ln., Boise, ID 83714). In lieu of flowers, Beverly requested that donations be made to the Idaho Humane Society.
