Obituary of Stanley Pedersen

Stan was born April 16, 1948 in Atlantic, Iowa of farming parents. His father re-entered the Air Force so Stan had the privilege of going to school and growing up all over the world. He passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011 of cancer with his wife and son at his side. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he settled in the Boise area and went on to become and much respected carpenter with his own business. He met the love of his life, Patty, and they were married in 1981 and moved to Alaska so Stan could pursue his carpentry skills. His son Christopher was born there, and after 2 years they returned to the Boise. Among Stan's many hobbies were golf (which he was very good at), camping, fishing, barbecues, and many happy vacations and trips. He was preceded in death by his parents, Red and Laura Pedersen. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pat; son, Christopher; and step-children, Joanne Loveland and Kendon Bright. Also surviving are his step-grandchildren, Brianna and Ashley; new great-grandson, Riley; and his sisters, Karen (Charlie) Agnew, Napa, Ca; Nina Friend (Ron), Benicia, Ca; and Kerma (Don) McCain, Nashville, Tenn. Stan was a man of charm, wit, and integrity. He will be remembered by his dear friends, many nieces and nephews, and by all he met. In lieu of flowers, the family ask you donate to The American Cancer Society , 2676 S. Vista Avenue, Boise, Idaho 83705. Memorial services will be Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Summers Funeral Homes, 3629 E. Ustick Road, Meridian. Private inurnment will be at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
