Obituary of Randy Gaehring

A celebration of the life of Randy Gaehring, 57, of Boise, Idaho will be held from 10am-Noon on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Summers Funeral Home, 1205 W. Bannock St., Boise. Friends are invited to share their memories of Randy. Randy was born June 10, 1954 in Roseburg, Oregon, the only son of Fred Gaehring and Margaret Griffey Gaehring. He attended Hillside Jr. High and Capital High Schools in Boise. He worked for J.R. Simplot in Hermiston, Oregon in the 1970s; after moving to Winnemucca in the 1980s, he worked in the gold mines of Nevada as an electrician. Returning to Boise following the death of his father, Fred in 1992, Randy built and ran a successful major appliance repair business. He loved life, people and cats and gave shelter to many. He worked hard and played even harder-his passion was snowmobiling. Never married, he is survived by his mother Margaret Bayard of Winston, Oregon; five siblings: Cory (Connie) Zavoskey, Janice Gaehring, Kristi (Karen) Gaehring, Kari Brown, and Greg Manning; his brother-in-law Michael Zavoskey; aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces; the true love of his life, Debbie Bardwell; his most-loved grandchildren; and a multitude of friends. Randy passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, September 12, 2011 from complications of cancer.
