Obituary of William Crumrine

William "Ben" Crumrine, 93, of Boise, ID died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in Boise at the Idaho State Veterans Home. Born January 15, 1918 in Erie, Kansas, Ben was a World War II veteran, serving as an Army Gunner in the Pacific from 1941-45. Ben worked in the Forestry Department after the war, but spent most of his career as a carpenter in Idaho and Oregon. He married Ruth Mabe of Mountain Home in 1948, and is survived by his daughter Sheila Ross and granddaughter Leslie Ross. In retirement, Ben enjoyed using his charmingly crusty sense of humor to play pranks and offer his numerous opinions to Letters to the Editor in the Idaho Statesman. The funeral will be held at Summers Funeral Home in Boise, Tuesday, August 30th at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home, ID.
