Obituary of Marjorie Williams

Marjorie D. Williams, of Boise passed away on Monday, August 1, surrounded by her loving family. Marge was born on August 17, 1935 to Cortensia Marie (Harrington) Matlock and Arvin Matlock in Lenora, Alberta, Canada and was the fifth of seven children. Later the family moved to Spokane, Washington where she lived and graduated from Rogers High School. In 1957 she married Robert Williams and together they had three wonderful children. In 1963 they relocated to Boise and later divorced. Marge's life was centered around her catholic faith and her family. She was a long time member of St. John's parish, Women's of St.John's, Legion of Mary, and long time church volunteer. Marge will be remembered for her strong faith, endless giving to her family, and the joy she brought to all who met her. Marge adored her children and granddaughter Brooke and loved spending time with them. She will be remembered by her children for being a loving and caring mother, an outstanding grandmother and for having an infectious zest for life. She retired in 1997 from Idaho Power after 35 years of service. During retirement she was always on the go, volunteering at the Nursing Home and church. She enjoyed shopping, working in her yard and spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her daughter Shelly Williams, son Guy and wife Linda Williams; granddaughter Brooke and son Greg and wife Linda Williams all of Boise. She is also survived by sisters Catherine Hamilton, Mary Ann Dinehart, Iva (Foster) Lopes, Delores (Richard) Bretthauer, and brother Clyde (Patricia) Matlock and many nieces and nephews all who were special to her. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Alvin Matlock. A vigil and viewing will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Cathedral in Boise. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Cathedral followed by the burial at Dry Creek Cemetery. The family would like to thank all of her family and friends that helped in her care giving or just stopped by to visit. Special thanks to Dr. John Gamboa and his staff at the Cancer Center of Idaho for providing wonderful care, compassion and friendship as well as thanks to Brett and Anna from St. Luke's Hospice. Mom, we have so many loving memories of you and will dearly miss you each day; you will always be in our hearts. We know that you are in heaven and are bringing joy and laughter to all who are there to welcome you. Arrangements are by Summers Funeral Home, Boise, Idaho.
