Obituary of Terry Thompson

Terry Thompson, 50, Boise, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011, from injuries suffered in an ATV accident while camping at Arrow Rock Reservoir. Niece, Mindy Johnson with whom Terry shared a special bond, was seriously injured in the accident. She is currently in intensive care at St. Alphonsus hosptial but is expected to make a full recovery. Terry was born June 7, 1961 in Englewood, Calif. At age 7 he began spending summers in Idaho with grandparents, aunts and uncles and eventually made Idaho his home. He had a love of the outdoors and a zest for life which always included family and friends. He had a special bond with his son Troy and was best friends with his wife Dawn. Terry loved camping, boating, snowmobiling, NASCAR racing, golf and was an avid BSU football fan. He was employed by Colliers International as a building engineer and was responsible for their local commercial properties. He is preceded in death by his father, Elvis Leon "Bud" Thompson: Grandfathers, Elvis Thompson: and Haskell Ford, and grandmother Imogene Thompson. Terry is survived by his wife, Dawn; son, Troy; brother, Keith Thompson; sister-in-law, Molly Morton; sister, Sherrie Thompson; brother-in-law, Wayne Thompon, sister-in-law, Candee Johnson; mother, Normalene Franzese and step-father James Franzese; step-mother Margaret "Missy" Thompson; grandmother, Virdie Ford; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In honor of Terry's love of the outdoors, a "casual" memorial service is planned at the Barber Park Event Center: Thursday July 7th beginning at 11:00 AM Address: 4049 South Eckert Road Boise Idaho 83716. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Terry's son Troy, can be made by contacting Summers Funeral Home.
