Obituary of Sharon Cox

Sharon Eloise (Skaggs) Cox passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 after complications related to Alzheimer's disease. Sharon was born on October 1, 1940 in Rupert, Idaho to Clara Edna Jones and Elmer Skaggs and was the fourth of five children. She then moved to Nampa and attended local schools there and later, Idaho State University, where she was pledged Sigma Kappa, and Boise State University, where she focused on her love of Art and History. Sharon had several jobs with the State of Idaho as well as working as a legal secretary for attorneys in Idaho, Texas and Kansas. She was also very active in the LDS religion and served as Relief Society President and numerous other callings throughout her life. Sharon had a love of art, gardening, poetry, sewing and Genealogy and produced many inspirational pieces from all of these. Her children and grandchildren especially remember her for the magical stories she would tell that would make their imaginations come alive. Sharon is survived by her husband, Verl Marvin Cox; and her children, Clayton (Tami) Cox, Sherri (Jim) Boyce, Christine (Eric) Weld and Benjamin Cox; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her sisters, Glenda and Kathy; and brother, Elmer Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lorraine. Sharon will be missed dearly by all of her family but will always be in our hearts and in our thoughts. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Meridian LDS Stake Center, Shamrock & McMillan Sts., Boise. A graveside inurnment service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 2, 2014 at Mountain View Cemetery in Fairfield, Idaho.
