Obituary of Dolores McKenzie

Dolores Del Rio McKenzie A wonderfully, vibrant woman left us to be with our Heavenly Father on April 11, 2014. Dolores was born on August 6, 1930 in Gary, Indiana. She grew up there and went on to graduate from Bishop College in Dallas, Texas with a degree in Teaching. In Dallas, she met and fell in love with and married Aster Williams Sr. After having one child, they moved to Brigham City, Utah where they both worked at Intermountain Inter-Tribal Indian School and had four more children. In 1980, Dolores retired from teaching and moved to Twin Falls, Idaho to work for the US Forest Service. In 1983, she moved to Boise, Idaho where she lived the rest of her years. While living in Boise, she became an active member of Sacred Heart Church. She loved to cook and read and was an avid sports lover but was all about football and her Dallas Cowboys. She is survived by her brothers, Billy McKenzie of Gary, IN, Bruce McKenzie (Mary) of Gary, IN, and Cecil McKenzie of Seattle, WA; her sister, Mae Alice Fossett of Gary, IN; sons, Aster Williams Jr., Richard Williams and Keith Williams of Boise, ID; Christopher Williams Sr. (Ina) of Colorado; and her daughter, Christina W. Dailey of Boise, ID. She is also survived by several wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her faith was her code. She taught all of us to love the Lord and appreciate His blessings and be thankful for every day we are here on earth and to make sure you tell your loved ones everyday how much they mean to you. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donzetta Sr. and Rosebud McKenzie; her loving husband, Aster Williams Sr.; and her brother, Donzetta McKenzie Jr. We love you Mama. RIP. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A viewing will be held at the church from 10-12 noon, two hours prior to service time.
