Obituary of Anthony Morrisroe

Anthony "Tony" Thomas Morrisroe died peacefully at home with his family on April 7, 2014 . Tony was a devoted husband, father, boss, colleague and friend to many people in the Boise area and across the country. This remarkable man will be missed by everyone who was fortunate to know him and to be a part of his joyful life. Tony discovered early the true secrets of life, figuring out how to love and build a family and how to work at what you love and make a living. Tony's Father and Mother, Dominic and Julia Klein Morrisroe and sister, Mary Ann, welcomed his birth in Roseburg, Oregon 10 days after Pearl Harbor, on Dec 17, 1941. They all moved to Boise to live at the end of 6th Street in Boise's North End for the next 35 years. Tony attended St. Joseph's and Longfellow Elementary Schools, North Junior High and graduated from St. Teresa's Academy in 1960. He and his classmates have celebrated many reunions since. Tony worked as an Idaho Statesman Newspaper carrier, at St. Alphonsus Hospital, Yanke Machine Shop, and Boise Bus Company. He graduated from Idaho State University in Pocatello with his Aircraft and Power plant License. He held a Federal Aircraft Inspector License for over twenty years. Tony met the love of his life, Sally Barclay, through the Cabrini Club in Boise in 1963 and they were married on Nov. 25, 1967 at St Johns Cathedral in Boise. They first lived in Twin Falls where he worked at Reeder Aircraft, then returned to Boise in 1969 with two baby daughters living and raising their family on the Boise bench since. Tony worked at the old Strawberry Glenn Airport for Jack Hoke, then joined the Air National Guard, and later became co-owner and president of Helicopter Maintenance Corporation. A natural inventor and mechanic, Tony ran his own aircraft maintenance and accessory business for over 30 years, including into the last few weeks of his life. He is a member of the Boise Elks, Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, Council 899 Knights of Columbus and is a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Tony drove and maintained the school bus and volunteered in many school activities at Sacred Heart. He especially loved his many years of organizing and cooking the St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef and Cabbage KC dinners. Tony is survived by his wife, Sally; three daughters Julie Bú, Anne Burkey, and Bridget Aman; two sons, Jim Barclay and Steve Barclay; two sons in laws, Bladimir Bú and Rob Aman; a special "adopted" daughter and granddaughter Eva Lopez and Eriqa Lopez Harvey; four grandsons, Joseph and Thomas Bú Morrisroe, and Tony Barclay and Ryan Aman; and six granddaughters, Lydia and Megan Aman, Catalina Bú Morrisroe, Kira Barclay, and Lily and Kaede Burkey.
