Obituary of James Carpenter

James "Jiggs" Carpenter May 1913 - March 2014 Mr. Carpenter, of Boise, passed away on March 27, 2014, at the age of 100. Jiggs retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as an Engineer. A cowboy at heart, he devoted many more years to his passion for horses. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Simms; granddaughters, Audra Sims and Nicole Elliott; great grandchildren, Tanner and McKenna Elliott; brothers, Don and Bill Carpenter; sisters, Evelyn Peterman and Mary Cook; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, in 2000. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 811 S. Latah, Boise, with Vigil Services at 9:30 AM, prior to the Mass. Graveside services will be at the Glenn Rest Cemetery in Glenns Ferry the same day at 2:00 PM.
