Obituary of Richard Ellison

Richard Eugene (Dick) Ellison was born in Callaway, Nebraska, November 13, 1925 to Pirl and Ruby Ellison. He was the third of nine children. His parents were farmers and he worked on the farm until he joined the Navy when he was eighteen. He served on the Aircraft Carrier, Bon Homme Richard during World War II. His ship was in the Sea of Japan wen the peace treaty was signed. He met the love of his life, Norma, while in the service. They were married July 26, 1946 and had a true love affair for over 67 years. They did not have children, but had may nieces and nephews that they loved very much. He is survived by his wife, Norma; brother Keith, and sister Kay. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob, Dale and Theron; and sisters, Neola, Donna and Nadine. Dick was a kind, generous, loving man and will be missed by all who knew him. Graveside services will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Thursday, March 20 at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow.
