Obituary of Frank Hope

Frank William Hope, 78, passed away March 12, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise after a courageous battle with cancer. Frank was born December 25, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA. In Pittsburgh, Frank became a life-long Pirates and Steelers fan, and attended the University of Pittsburgh. In the 1950s Frank served proudly in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Sheridan, IL. Following many years in Pittsburgh, Frank and Bernadette moved to California where Frank continued his education at Long Beach City College. After retirement Frank and Bernadette moved to Meridian, ID to be close to family. Frank's passions were playing golf with his grandsons and son-in-law, spending time with family at home, and taking vacations any time he could. During retirement, Frank worked part-time at Home Depot and enjoyed many friendships there. Frank is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernadette; daughters, Karen Falconer and Kristen Miller; their husbands, Dennis Falconer and Joe Miller; grandsons, Scott "Slick" Falconer, Daniel "Wick" Falconer, Joseph "JW" Miller, and Michael "Bones" Miller; and respective granddaughters, Sara Falconer, Breanna Falconer, and Brianna Bennett. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Summers Funeral Home, 3629 E. Ustick, Meridian. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church at Chinden Blvd. and Meridian Rd. with a reception in the hall following the service.
