Obituary of Richard Loucks

Dick was born in Sunnyside, Washington to Ethan and Vela Loucks, where he lived until five years ago when he moved to Boise, Idaho to be near his daughter. Dick was a light machine gunner stationed in Okinawa from June 29, 1944 to March 20, 1946. While serving in the Army, Dick received the World War II Victory Medal with one bronze/silver star and a Purple Heart. After recovering from a gun shot wound to his arm and being honorably discharge, Dick returned to the Yakima Valley where he met and married Annabelle Sager. Dick owned and operated Dick's Mobil Service for several years in Sunnyside and later drove an oil tanker for R.E. Powell Distributing out of Grandview, Washington. Dick is survived by his three children Richard F. Loucks (Bonnie), Sheryl Ann Gillogly (Vern) and Lance Loucks, four grandchildren, Amy Jean Stanton of Hermiston, Oregon, Jamie Jo Watson of Boise, Idaho, Jeremiah Wickham of Nampa, Idaho and Misty Mears of Kennewick, Washington, and eight great-grandchildren, Erica Anderson, Lyndsee Anderson, Kayla Watson, Katelyn Watson, Micah Wickham, Elise Wickham, Cameron Mears and Layla Mears. The family feels very blessed to have had their loving dad and grandpa for 91 years.
