Obituary of Arthur Eric Bergstrom

Retired U.S. Navy Commander Arthur Eric Bergstrom, 74 years old, of Meridian Idaho passed away on Wednesday April 4, 2018 at St. Luke’s Meridian.

Celebration of Life ceremony will be at 2pm on Monday April 9, 2018 at Summers Funeral Home 3629 E Ustick Rd, Meridian ID 83642. His ashes will be released out to sea at a later date.

Eric Bergstrom was born in Glendale California to John Alfon Bergstrom and Mildred Olsson on August 20th 1943. He attended Glendale High School and graduated from the University of Southern California in 1965.  Commissioned into the United States Navy in 1966 as a Lieutenant Junior Grade, he served for nearly 30 years advancing through the ranks and retiring as a Commander from the U.S. Naval Reserves. He served on active duty during the Vietnam War earning several prestigious accolades, which include The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars and The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.  He married Cynthia Eileen Riley in July of 1980, and together raised two beautiful children. In addition to his honorable service in the Unites States Navy, he retired from Nunhems Seed Company in 2014 as a Credit Manager. He was the purest of souls, passionate about all things. He loved his family whole heartedly, his God, country and community.

Eric Bergstrom is proceeded in death by his Uncle, Carl Bergstrom, Father, John Alfon Bergstrom, and Mother, Mildred Olsson.

Eric Bergstrom is survived by his wife Cynthia Bergstrom, his children Christopher Bergstrom and Dana Bergstrom, his brother John Bergstrom, and grandchildren Nathan and Tristan Bergstrom.
