Obituary of James H Brekke

James H. Brekke was called to his heavenly home on March 30, 2018 at the age of 89.

Jim was born on April 10, 1928 in Dodge Center, Minnesota to Gust and Lorraine (Schleeter) Brekke. He married Jean Polovitz on May 28, 1949 in Bessemer, Michigan. In 1958, Jim’s banking career brought him and his family to Boise, Idaho where he finished his banking career and retired as a bank executive.

Jim is survived by his four children; James C. (Sue) Brekke, Jill (Roger) Mason, Jerry (Lori) Brekke and Jeff (Holly) Brekke. Ten grandchildren; Jim (Andrea) Brekke, Ryan Brekke, Curtis (Natalie) Mason, Jeff (Mandy) Mason, Brandon (Andrea) Brekke, Brock Adams, Kimberly (Joe) Roth, Brittany (Kyle) Tanner, Jennifer (AJ) Stroup, Jared (Kristen) Brekke, and fourteen great grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Jean of sixty six years, brother, Kenneth “Kunute,” sister, LaVonne Blaha and his parents.

The family wants to extend a special thanks to Morning Star Senior Living and Keystone Hospice for their wonderful care of Dad.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 3pm at Summers Funeral Home,  Boise Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
