Greg was born in Boise, Idaho on January 26th, 1983. Greg was raised in Meridian, Idaho by his parents Brett and Teresa Purvis. Greg is the oldest of 3 sons. Growing up, Greg was very active and possessed many talents. He loved sports, including football, basketball, soccer, baseball, and wrestling. He graduated in 2001 from Meridian High School. He was very artistic and loved to draw, color, trace, and create. He loved anything to do with cars, from detailing to racing, and his all-time favorite car was a Ford Mustang. Greg was also a certified CrossFit Trainer and competed in local competitions. Greg served a faithful full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Louisville, Kentucky.

Greg met the love of his life, Angie, in 2008. For their first date, Greg gladly sacrificed going to a BSU football game to sit and eat a subway sandwich on Angie’s work lunch break. This was the first of many acts of loving sacrifice. Greg asked Angie to be his eternal companion and partner in life.   They were sealed for time and all eternity on September 4th, 2009.  Greg chose Caden to be his son, adopted him and took on the father role happily. Caden was sealed to Greg and Angie shortly after. Greg loved being a father. In his last days and words, his main concern was for Caden. Greg expressed he wanted Caden happy and to know he was loved.

Greg took pride in caring for his family and providing for them. There wasn’t a puzzle that Greg could not solve. He often wowed his nieces and nephews with solving a Rubix cube in minutes. He loved working with his hands. His determination and relentlessness to fix things drove him to attain his journeyman HVAC licensure and served the Treasure Valley.

Greg’s love of life and energy always filled the room. Greg overcame trial after trail and still faced life with enthusiasm. He loved making others laugh and was very good at bringing laughter to our lives with silly phrases, dances, and video messages.   He loved being around people, was generous, and would give anyone the shirt off his back. Greg was loyal, incredibly forgiving, sensitive to others, hardworking, loving, and dedicated. Above all, he was a loving husband and father.

Greg is survived by his wife, Angela, and son, Caden, his parents Brett and Teresa, and brothers, Jared (Danica), and Derek (Elizabeth). Greg is at peace at home with his heavenly father and his beloved pup, Belvedere. Greg’s loving and goofy spirit will continue to live on this earth in his family and friends. Greg will continue to serve our heavenly father with all his heart, might, mind, and strength.
